Iona Alice Jacob was a childhood friend of mine and we kinda lost contact after she left for United States at the age of 16. We went to church together since i was in Primary 3 and attended the same Sunday School class and we were the only 2 girls in the same Sunday School class.
We became friends.. and she was someone i look forward to seeing every weekend in Church. In fact, i think Iona was the main reason why i would attend church every Sunday. Iona came from a very good family and home. Her parents were loving.. and she had a few siblings .. Ivan, Irene and Ivy.. and all of them were talented.. and had a great sense of humor. In the end .. they all did migrate to USA .. and I’ve never heard from them since.
I traveled for work alot and everytime, when i am in United States, i try to look them up because i heard they were in Ohio but i don’t even know which part of Ohio. Therefore, when i am not too busy with my meetings and conferences or entertaining my corporate clients .. i would look thru’ the phone book to see if they were in the city .. but i haven’t had any luck.
Iona must be about the same age as I.. and she touched my life.. just by being her.. and i looked up to her .. as an example.. when i was a kid. I hope that she is doing well.. and I wished i could get in touch with her in the near future. It is almost 27 yrs since i last saw Iona and it would truly be an amazing thing to meet her again. Do you have someone in your past that inspired you..?
